The only thing bigger than John’s personality is the passion he has for our clients' success.

As Founder, President, and CEO, John leads the push for thinking that will redefine markets. He knows the difficult issues facing both established and emerging healthcare companies and loves working with them to secure the health of their brands.

In the 20 years prior to founding Stonefly, John led pioneering successes in publishing, medical education, and brand management. As a general manager within Young & Rubicam, he launched Sentrix Global Health Communication’s North American office. In 2002, he was recruited to lead Blue Diesel, inVentiv Health’s interactive company. In 2004, John created a media-neutral ideation team within inVentiv to respond to a client’s urgent promotional needs. Stonefly Communications Group was born. John also serves on the operating board of inVentiv Communications.

John firmly believes that health is the catalyst for all that is good in life. He recently initiated a series of personal and professional development programs to ensure rewarding growth for all Stoneflyers. John supports GRACE (Giving Relief and Care to the Elderly), participates in The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America and Men Against Breast Cancer. He also enjoys coaching his daughter’s basketball team and his son’s baseball team.

Jim Johnson - Executive Creative Director

You know how some people are mechanically inclined? Well, Jim is like that with information and ideas. Jim comes to Stonefly from the consumer side of advertising where his breakthrough campaigns have raised eyebrows, rocketed sales, and won awards the world over. This includes transforming Pringles from a regional brand into a global megabrand and remaking Herbal Essences shampoo into an “organic experience.” He has also created brand-building work for such consumer favorites as Tide, Oil of Olay, and Pampers at major agencies in New York and Europe. Jim came to Stonefly from Grey Worldwide, where he was SVP, Global Creative Director. Prior to Grey, he worked at Wells, Rich, Greene, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Warwick Advertising.

Jim has a passion for equity strategies, launching new products, and creating media-neutral marketing ideas. He has developed cross-promotional events with Disney, Nickelodeon, Survivor, and Lord of the Rings. His work has been recognized by the following: Effie, Clio, NY Festival, Mobius, Cresta, Museum of Modern Art, Multiple P&G Global Brand Building Awards, AdAge Top Ten Ads of the Year, and Adweek Ads of the Month.

Like so many great creatives, Jim is a student of life. He enjoys making the most of his time with his wife and two teenaged children.
