Stonefly Communications Group Announces New Appointments
Agency Enhances Client Services and Insight Planning, Strengthens Digital Capability
COLUMBUS, Ohio –August 26, 2009– Stonefly Communications Group, an inVentiv Health company (NASDAQ: VTIV) and a patient-focused, insight-driven healthcare advertising agency, has announced three new appointments to the agency.
Karen Langenberg joins Stonefly as vice president, medical marketing insights. Previously, Langenberg was owner and principal of Langenberg Medical Marketing LLC, where she was a consultant and completed project work for several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. After spending time as senior director, commercial development at OSI EYETECH Pharmaceuticals, she spent 18 years at Merck, working most recently as director, medical science for the ophthalmology specialty team. Prior to leading this team, Karen worked across Merck’s anti-infective, cardiovascular, cholesterol, and oncology brands. In addition, she spent three years leading a multifunctional brand team in Belgium and was part of Merck’s first DTC team. Langenberg, who will join the agency's leadership team, will be responsible for Stonefly’s insight planning and scientific and medical direction. She brings more than 22 years of marketing, sales, commercial development and medical science experience across numerous therapeutic areas as well as many integrated media channels.
Maryanne Kelleher has been named vice president, account director. Bringing more than 19 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Kelleher has held positions with inVentiv Health’s Creative Healthcare Solutions (CHS), Sanofi-Aventis, and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products, Inc. In addition to working on CNS brands such as Amrix, Provigil, and Zomig, she also has experience with dermatology and aesthetic brands such as Sculptra, Benzamycin, and Psorcon E. Kelleher will be responsible for leading major agency accounts, mentoring junior staff members, and building and overseeing existing and new client relationships.
Dan Weatherby, who formerly was director of interactive design and technology at Young Isaac/People to My Site, joins Stonefly as director, interactive design and strategy. Weatherby will be responsible for providing creative and strategic development for the digital platform. He brings 15 years of digital design and strategic development experience including positions at Young Isaac, D Interactive, Out of the Box Designs, and SBC Advertising. Weatherby has worked on healthcare brands such as Ohio Health, Roche Labs, Tamiflu, Vidaza, Cymbalta, Topamax, Alimta, Nutropin, and Razadyne.
